YAKIMA, Wash. - It's that time of year when you hear bells, Salvation Army bells, when you go shopping.
The Salvation Army's Red Kettle Drive starts today at Wray's Chalet Food & Drug on N. 56th & Summitview Ave. The event is scheduled to start at 10:10 A.M. Shoppers will see the kettles at over 26 locations around Yakima, including six new locations.
Organizers say they raised more than $90,000 last year and hope to top $93,000 this year. The money will help fund local Salvation Army programs.
Across the nation, the Red Kettle Drive begins on Thanksgiving Day.
