Mariners promote Pedro Grifol to director of minor league
SEATTLE (AP) - There were some more changes under new general manager Jack Zduriencik in the Seattle Mariners' front office yesterday. The Mariners announced 38-year-old Pedro Grifol has been promoted to director of minor league operations. He had been the Mariners coordinator of minor league instruction. The Mariners also announced the hiring of 52-year-old Tim Tolman as their new coordinator of minor league instruction. Tolman spent the past two seasons as the Washington Nationals third base coach and spring camp coordinator. The team said Greg Hunter will be reassigned within the organization. Hunter was the Mariners director of player development last season. He has been in the Mariners player development department for 12 seasons.
