KENNEWICK, Wash-- Benton PUD had its annual senior day Wednesday, which helps connect seniors with low income discounts on their power bill.
The Community Action Committee of Benton and Franklin Counties helped enroll seniors. Those qualified may get up to a 20 percent monthly discount based on their household income.
Seniors also learned about electrical safety, energy saving tips, and each were given a free compact fluorescent light bulb.
"The bulb that they give out those are very good because they last a long time too. I don't normally put the bulbs in my husband does so I didn't know about the wattage, but I learned today," said Eloise Cummins, Kennewick Senior.
There will be another senior day Thursday at the Prosser PUD auditorium. It's from eight in the morning until noon.
