PULLMAN, Wash. -- The 101st meeting between the Cougars and Huskies is quickly approaching. Cougar quarterback Kevin Lopina was cleared to practice Wednesday and is expected to play.
The Apple Cup will kick off at noon Saturday in Pullman, a battle of the bottom of the Pac-10 Barrel.
Neither team has a conference win this season, which in a backwards way, may make the game more significant. One thing's for sure, it's the two teams biggest game of the season.
Cougars Tight End Ben Woodard says, "This is the biggest game I'm going to play in. I'm doing my best to prepare. I know a lot of guys on the team are doing a little extra this week to help prepare. We're looking forward to it."
Cougars Head Coach Paul Wulff says, "That's why it's going to be fun because regardless of records, there will be great intensity and it'll be fun football to watch."
