Expansion Seattle MLS Team Holds Tryouts In Yakima
YAKIMA--Seattle's expansion Major League Soccer team held tryouts in Yakima today.
More than 300 people showed up to Chesterley Park hoping to earn a spot with Sounders FC, The newest MLS team. Some players came from as far as New Jersey and St. Louis for a shot at a roster spot. The Yakima Valley was also well-represented.
"I mean I figure I have a chance just as much as anybody out here and so I thought I'd give it a shot."
The Sounders have also held tryouts in Seattle and Spokane. The club did take a few players from today's competition. The top ten players from all three tryouts will compete in a reality TV show to earn a contract with the club.
The show will air on Super Bowl Sunday.
Sounders FC's inaugural season kicks off in April.
