Gas Prices Plummet, Does that Spell Trouble for Scooter Sales?
RICHLAND, Wash-- Gas prices continue to drop. AAA estimates the average cost of a gallon in the Tri-Cities is $2.01. So how does this affect scooter stores? The small bikes boomed in popularity when gas prices hit record highs.
KNDU spoke with one Richland scooter store worker who says people are still buying, just not as much. But they say that's not necessarily because of lower gas prices; it's also because of the cold weather.
They recommend bundling up and putting a windshield on your bike if you want to drive around in the winter. They say the bikes can get upwards of 90 miles per gallon.
