Prosser Grad Cody Bruns on Playing in 1st Apple Cup

PULLMAN, Wash. -- Saturday's 16-13 double overtime Apple Cup victory was outstanding if you're a coug fan but what about if your former Prosser Mustang Cody Bruns, a freshman for the Huskies.

Saturday Bruns caught a screen pass for 14 yards and also took a direct snap and ran it for another 13.

But, the limited action he saw Saturday is an example of what he has seen all season with Coach Ty Willingham.

So KNDU asked him how he felt after the Apple Cup.

He sais "I wish it could of turned out differently but it was a great experience."

KNDU also asked Bruns about playing in his freshman season.

He says, "It was a struggle, a lot of adversity, setbacks, comebacks. I think it'll help in the long run though"

And is he mad about burning his redshirt year?

He says, "You can't trade experience in games for not playing. I'm excited to be playing and I have no regrets."

Other husky players say Bruns is a special player.

Running Back Terrance Dailey says, "He's getting used in a lot of trick plays and stuff and he has a lot of ability there so once he gets bigger and they put him out at wide receiver, I think that'll be excellent."
