Reaction to Kamiakin's 2nd Place Finish in Volleyball
KENNEWICK, Wash. -- What a fight the Kamiakin Braves put on, making it all the way to the State Volleyball Final Saturday before losing 3-0 to Lewis and Clark.
The 2nd place state finish is the best in Kamiakin history. When KNDU talked to the team, they said they are disappointed about not winning the title but are still happy with their season.
Senior Kamiakin Outside Hitter Marcy Hjellum says, "We are so proud of ourselves and after we get over the fact that we did not get 1st place, we are just going to be so proud of each and every one of us."
Coach Mary Opitz says, "To the young girls I said, you remember what it's like, how hard we had to work to get here because it's not an easy task to get here and then once you get here you have to play very well."
