YAKIMA, Wash - Workers at the salvation army say they're seeing more people requesting food assistance.
Right now workers say about 80 to 90 families use the food bank every day.
Employees say they've spent months preparing and organizing food baskets for Thanksgiving. But they say they're always worried about having enough food to go around.
"There are always concerns. Our shelves are empty at 4 o'clock. What are we going to do when we have 30 more minutes to provide?"
Workers say they'll be using food left over from operation harvest to get them through the holidays.
The food packs provide families with a week or two worth of food.
The salvation army says Christmas is their busiest day.
