YAKIMA, Wash-- Thanksgiving dinner isn't the only time you can enjoy wine, the festivities run all weekend. It's been a slow start, but Thanksgiving in Wine Country usually brings people from all over the state to the Yakima Valley.
Just follow the signs along downtown Yakima and across the Valley to your favorite winery. Inside there'll be plenty of wine and sometimes food to go along. The weekend after Thanksgiving brings lots of tourism to Yakima.
The owner of Donitelia Winery said last year they were busy in the morning, but Friday this year has started a little slower.
"It's been really sort of quite. Ya, so we're looking forward to maybe people just getting out of bed a little later, starting a little later and doing some shopping at the mall first then coming out for wine tasting later," said Hans Michielsen, co-owner, Donitelia.
Many wineries participate in the Thanksgiving in Wine Country event. Just remember to bring your own glass as the wineries get really busy.
