SELAH, Wash. - Pacific Power will hold an open house for interested residents about a proposed transmission line running to Vantage Tuesday night.
Officials want the power line completed by 2012 with construction of the 40-mile line beginning in 2011.
The line would connect a Pomona Heights substation near Selah with a Bonneville Power Administration substation in Vantage. Much of the line will cross through the Yakima Training Center.
Pacific Power says the line will enhance operating flexibility and security in the region.
The power company's open house will be at the Selah Civic Center on 216 S. First Street. A brief presentation and an opportunity for questions start at 6:30 P.M. and will run till 8:30 P.M.
