State Hotline for Flu Information and Nearest Flu Clinic
There is a special hotline residents in Washington state can call to find the nearest flu clinic in their area providing the immunization during flu season.
Health officials say anyone between the ages of six months and 18 years old or with health issues, as well as women who are pregnant should consider getting the shot.
Dan Smith works for the American Lung Association in Yakima. He says it is not too late to get the shot at this point into the flu season.
"If you haven't got your shot, it would be good to get it right now," Smith said. "It takes a couple of weeks for the immunization to get to its full strength."
Anyone wanting to find a flu clinic location as well as get other helpful tips can call the Family Health Hotline at 1-800-322-2588. Hotline hours are 8:00 A.M. - 5:30 P.M. Monday through Thursday and 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. on Fridays.
