YAKIMA, Wash.- It took thirty years in the making and today a retired U.S Army Sergeant is officially retired for his years of service.

A special retirement ceremony was held for Command Sergeant Majore Donald Morris in the rainier conference room at Pacific Northwest University.

University President Dr. Stanley Flemming presented Morris with a United States flag.

Dr. Flemming is no stranger to the army, he holds rank of Brigadier General.

Today's event makes it especially important for Morris, since he was never formally recognized with a retirement ceremony.
