HUSKIES FOOTBALL
      Search continues for coach
     
      SEATTLE (AP) - Washington is still looking for a football coach
to replace Tyrone Willingham, and it won't be Fresno State's Pat
Hill.
      He interviewed on Saturday in Seattle but released a statement
today through Fresno State saying he's staying with the Bulldogs,
who are preparing for a bowl appearance.
     
      Winless season in reach
      BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) - The Washington football Huskies are big
underdogs again for the final game of the season Saturday at Cal.
      Another loss would make a winless season - 0-12 - and a 14-game
losing streak going back to last year.
      The last team the Huskies beat was Cal in November of last year
at Husky Stadium.
      The Bears have a 7-4 record this year.
     
HUSKIES BASKETBALL
      Vs. Oklahoma State
     
      SEATTLE (AP) - The Washington basketball team plays Oklahoma
State tonight in Seattle.
      The Cowboys have a 5-2 record and beat the Huskies in their game
last year at Stillwater.
      The Huskies are 3-3, looking to make a showing against a
big-time team in a nationally televised game.
      This is part of the Big 12-Pac-10 Hardwood Series.
     
COUGARS BASKETBALL
      Playing ranked teams
     
      SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - Washington State's final two
non-conference home games are shaping up as the best of year.
      The 6-1 Cougars host No. 24 Baylor on Saturday night and No. 5
Gonzaga next Wednesday. Both are offensive powerhouses that will
tests for the defense-minded Cougars.
      The game against 6-1 Baylor is part of the Big 12/Pac-10
Hardwood Series.
     
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
      Vs. Long Beach
     
      PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) - The Washington State women's basketball
team plays Long Beach tomorrow in Pullman.
