YAKIMA--A waitress at Yakima's Red Robin is battling cancer, and coworkers are donating their time and tips to help her cause.
Noelle Atwood's battling a rare form of colon and liver cancer. Her coworkers are joining the fight: Saturday, December 6, they will donate all the tips they get to Noelle's cause.
Noelle Atwood only found out she had cancer a few weeks ago. Since then she's been undergoing chemotherapy, and if all goes well she'll be having surgery within the next month.
But, the bills are piling up. Now her coworkers at Red Robin want to help Atwood. They say is a great friend and worker. "Her enthusiasm and energy is contagious," General Manager Mark DiPietro said. "Everyone here just loves her dearly and we all wanted to do something."
DiPietro says servers were volunteering to work Saturday and give up their tips.
Red Robin restaurants in Wentachee and Kennewick are also raising money. All proceeds will go to Atwood and her family.
Red Robin's open from 11 to 11 Saturday, and every dollar tip they collect for Noelle really will matter.
