PENDLETON, Ore. -- A mental health center in Eastern Oregon is at risk of being shut down.
Governor Ted Kulongoski recently said he would like to see the Blue Mountain Recovery Center in Pendleton phased out with his next proposed budget.
The 60-bed center dates back almost a century. The current building dates from the 1940s and covers nearly 90,000 square feet next door to the Eastern Oregon Correctional Institution.
142 people are employed by the facility and the state plans to find them new jobs if it shuts down.
