YAKIMA, Wash.- Drive around Yakima and you'll see Christmas tree lots.
We talked to the manager at Russell's Nursery. They say sales aren't just steady, they're much higher than expected. So far, they've sold more than half of the 1,000 trees they started with and they expect to be nearly sold out by late next week.
"A little different this year because there's last time between thanksgiving and christmas and trees are actually going faster," said Pam Matheny, the manager.
The manager says the economy and people staying home for the holidays have a big effect on sales. This year, they've sold more live trees than ever before.
