Salon Won't Let Thief Ruin Needy Family's Christmas
YAKIMA--Police are still searching for a man who stole $400 worth of gifts yesterday, but employees at J & L Salon aren't letting that ruin that family's Christmas.
Upper Valley dispatchers bought the presents for a family in need. The boyfriend of a dispatcher went to the salon with the gifts in his car. While the driver of the car was getting a haircut, a white man with blonde hair and a mustache broke the windshield, took the gifts, and drove off in a white SUV.
The salon is now raising money to help replace the presents.
"They belonged to needy children that were going to be handed out to them on Christmas and now because somebody had to steal them they're gone. We want to help replace those gifts."
If you're interested in helping out, J & L Salon is on 49th and Tieton. They'll be giving discounted haircuts on Monday from noon to five p.m. and accepting donations for the family.
