RENTON, Wash. (AP) - Seattle Seahawks offensive left tackle Walter Jones has been selected for his franchise-record ninth Pro Bowl.
The 34-year-old Jones will miss the NFL's all-star game in February because of season-ending knee surgery.
Jones was selected yesterday for the eighth consecutive time. Defensive tackle Cortez Kennedy had six in a row and eight selections overall for the Seahawks during the 1990s.
Jones had microfracture surgery last Thursday on his left knee. He's missing his first games since 1997 because of injury. He has said that other than the knee pain he feels great and expects to return for a 13th season in 2009.
