Good Turn-out at White Pass Ski Resort Opening Day
WHITE PASS, Wash-- White Pass Ski Resort opened Friday, but with such a late start to the season will they make up for lost time?
They're reporting strong attendance numbers, exceeding the 500 people predicted by White Pass General Manager Kevin McCarthy. Opening day conditions included powder and packed snow.
McCarthy was nervous about the late opening day, but he can't change the weather.
"But, we'll be fine you know I mean we've picked up five feet of snow in the past week. And never did I dream that would happen this year. But, it does occasionally so we'll be in good shape," said McCarthy.
Receiving a fresh coat of snow Thursday night only added to Friday's great conditions. Currently the quad, triple, carpet and platter lifts are running. The steeps will open once they get a little more snowfall.
If you missed out on opening day there's still this weekend.
