PASCO, Wash-- Christmas is less than a week away and that means time is running out to get your packages mailed. The best way to help the mailman besides keeping your dog inside, is to brush all the snow off your mail box.
If your postman puts your mail through a mail slot on your door be sure to shovel your driveway and sidewalk. All mail trucks are equipped with chains for their tires and the mail carriers are trained on how to drive them in the snow.
The post office off court street in pasco is the biggest in the Columbia Basin. KNDU went there today and they say you need to hurry and mail those Christmas cards and gifts.
"It is the crunch time the last week before Christmas. The wait times may be a little bit longer. First thing in the morning is usually a good time or right after lunch come in then before the crowds come in normally the crowds come in between 9:30-11:00. It picks up at 1:30 p.m. To 4:00 p.m. Or 5:00 p.m," said Connie Beutler, Post Office Supervisor, Pasco.
Because it's the last week before Christmas they recommend using express mail which is a one or two day guarantee. You can also do priority mail.
