Chocolate Visits Eastgate Elementary for Food Drive.

KENNEWICK, Wash. - Kids from Eastgate Elementary got a special visit for this year's pet food drive.

Chocolate, a dog who was given a second chance, was helping Santa.  The children collected $450.00 through their "coins for critters" drive and nearly 600 pounds of food, all for the Benton Franklin Humane Society.

"We wanted the kids to see how we never give up.  Chocolate never gave up and we wanted to give back to others that weren't as fortunate," said school counselor Sue Conrad.

The money the children raised will help with the humane society's new building.

Meadow Hills Veterinary Center helped the children collect the food.
