PORT ORCHARD, Wash. (AP) - A Kitsap County man accused of driving an all-terrain vehicle that collided with a 10-year-old boy on a sled has been charged with vehicular assault and hit and run.

Fifty-3-year-old Peter Michael Ohman was charged Friday in Kitsap County Superior Court.

Kitsap County sheriff's deputies say they think Ohman was traveling south on Banner Road in the Olalla area early Friday when his ATV collided with the boy, who was sledding north on the same road.

The boy reportedly suffered facial fractures and was taken to Mary Bridge Children's Hospital in Tacoma.

Ohman is accused of leaving the accident scene on foot. Sheriff's spokesman Scott Wilson says the man was identified by witnesses and was arrested later at his home.
