Interstate 84 has been reopened east of Portland in the Columbia Gorge.
The highway was closed on Saturday night, blocking hundreds of semi trucks, as a winter storm moved through.
High winds and a slick surface kept the interstate closed from Troutdale at Portland's east edge to Hood River.
The Oregon Department of Transportation says crews had worked through the night to remove drifts, plow and sand the road.
Chains are required on parts of the highway.
