69-Year-Old Kennewick Man Shovels Neighbors Driveways

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash. - Talk about a great neighbor.  It's Santa with a shovel. For the past three years 69-year-old Dick Rochleau shovels the driveways of his neighbors.

He uses a lawn mower with a plow attached to the front.

He makes his way around the neighborhood using his mower and shovel to clear the walkways and driveways near the 2400 block of West 7th Avenue in Kennewick.

Some of the people he helps are in wheelchairs and disabled and can't do it themselves.

His wife, Mary Rochleau said, "They come out and thank him and jump up and down."

Dick said, "It's just fun. I like to be busy. Now that I'm retired I like something to do."

Neighbor Tom Zigan said, "he's older than I am and moves a whole lot better than I do."

Now Dick and Mary will be hosting their entire family for Christmas.
