Sandstone Cafe Feeds Anyone Who Doesn't Have a Christmas Dinner
KENNEWICK, Wash-- One local restaurant decided to do something they've never done before, give anyone who doesn't have a Christmas dinner a free meal.
Sandstone in downtown Kennewick is known for having some of the best soup in the Tri-Cities. From 1 pm to 5 pm they opened there doors to families and locals that couldn't afford a Christmas dinner on their own this year.
The owner says he was amazed by how many of his customers volunteered to help serve and deliver dinners.
"My customers saying hey can I help out, what can I do. They've been offering a little bit of cash or maybe just coming by and taking meats to richland on their own gas is amazing," said James Ortega, Sandstone Cafe Owner.
Local companies also donated to free food to Sandstone Café. Cisco, Food Services of America, and Costco each gave desserts and Christmas dinner dishes to help feed anyone who came by Thursday.
