Police Cracking Down on New Year's Drinking and Driving
WASHINGTON-- Officers are gearing up for New Year's Eve. The Kennewick Police Department says they're planning to have as many officers as possible on the streets looking for unruly behavior.
Officers say drinking and driving is one of their biggest challenges. They want to make sure you know of other ways to get home besides driving yourself; this includes designated drivers and taking a taxi. Kennewick Police also say their holiday ride along program is still in effect. If you have no other way to make it home in Kennewick, just call police.
Officers also say assaults are common on New Year's Eve.
