Tom Moak Named Kennewick Mayor At City Council Meeting Tuesday Night
KENNEWICK, Wash. - Kennewick had a new mayor Tuesday night.
The Kennewick City Council chose Tom Moak. The 55-year-old has already served on the council for 11 years.
Moak has worked at Kennewick Mid-Columbia Library as a librarian for 29 years.
He also served in the state legislator for a year. He said he delighted for this new challenge.
Moak said, "It's an honor to serve as mayor and I look forward to looking to the folks not only in Kennewick, but the greater Tri-Cities area and that's what I hope to build a better community and to have fun doing it to."
One of his main goals is to utilizes the riverfront more. He thinks there's a lot more that can be done with it.
