Kick-Off To Annual Daffodil Days Fundraiser For American Cancer Society
RICHLAND, Wash. - Monday night was the kick-off to the annual Daffodil Days Fundraiser for the American Cancer Society in the Tri-Cities.
People can now sign-up to sell the daffodils at work or around the community and the money raised will go towards the American Cancer Society.
You can buy 10 daffodils for 10 dollars, 10 daffodils in a vase for 15 dollars and 10 flowers in a vase with a bear cost 25 dollars. There are also other choices.
Flowers will be sold between February 2nd and 19th, then delivered in March.
Last year they raised over $26,000 dollars in the Tri-Cities.
Representative Michele Lawrence explained the connection between daffodils and cancer. She said, "In the spring, you see those daffodils through the hard ground and they represent what our cancer survivors go through when they go through treatment and it's kind of like a celebration like they made it through the strong winter."
This year their goal is to raise $40,000 dollars.
They will also have kick off events this week in Walla Walla, Pendleton and Hermiston.
