BENTON COUNTY, Wash. - A wild chase in Benton County ended with 48-year-old Roy Cook of Richland in Kadlec Medical Center facing five different charges.
Benton County Deputies said it started off as a hit and run near 7th and Babs in Benton City at 5:30 Tuesday night.
They said Cook refused to stop for deputies and took police on a high-speed chase throughout Benton County that ended on I-82 near the Queensgate Exit.
Deputies said they had to use spikes to stop his car. Police also said they fired a bean bag gun at the suspect when he refused to get out of the car. They said that is when he sustained injuries.
Authorities said his behavior was beyond reckless and dangerous. They said the chase lasted about 20 minutes.
Cook faces a possible DUI, felony eluding, vehicular assault, resisting arrest and driving with a suspended license.
