PASCO, Wash-- In most regions around the country airlines are cancelling flights, but at our airport they are adding new ones.
Delta Airlines plans to start a new flight from Pasco to Minneapolis Saint Paul International Airport. The flight will be operated by Compass Airlines, a Delta Connection Partner. It will have 76 seats available and 12 of them first class.
Delta recently merged with northwest airlines making them the largest airline in the world. Delta says opening up this flight meets the demand for people wanting to travel to the Tri-Cities and Eastern Washington Region.
"We see an opportunity in the strength network to come into a market like Pasco and really dominate from a stand point of again if you're going east we have basically every direction you want to go cover. Even if you want to go south from Pasco we've got every direction covered," said Anthony Black, Spokesman for Delta.
This flight will make it easier for Tri-Citians to connect to the East Coast and Europe. The Minneapolis Airport is one of the biggest connection hubs in the country.
