Coats For Kids in Tri-Cities Collects More Than Twice As Many Coats in 2008
KENNEWICK, Wash.-- This year's Coats For Kids drive was one of our most successful ever, thanks to a large number of donations.
Staff at the Salvation Army say this year they were given almost 4,000 kids coats, more than twice as many as last year.
The coats will be given away through March. They say the support from different areas in the community made this possible.
"Even with the school challenge, how they really encouraged the school, and how they even gave them a little bit of an incentive to collect children coats, I think that really boosted the number," said
Staff at Salvation Army say they still have kids and adult coats to give away.
You can drop by their office in Pasco at 310 N. 4th Avenue, on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 9:00 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.
