SELAH, Wash-- One new business owner will soon be laughing all the way to the bank. Carmen's Comedy Club in Selah is set to open Friday.
The owner of Carmen's Comedy Club said she's almost booked up for Friday's grand opening and reservations for Saturday's show keep coming in.
Located at 316 South First Street in Selah, the club has an intimate feel and seats around 55 people. Owner, Carmen Garrison works 9-5 as a nurse rep, but has always loved stand-up comedy. Recently, she's been going to comedy clubs in Seattle, Spokane and Portland for her business inspiration.
She's not concerned that Selah's too small for a comedy club, so far the community has been excited she says.
"I figured if I'm going to make an investment I'd rather make the investment in my community and something that other people can enjoy," said Garrison.
Garrison has a full line-up of comedian's scheduled through April. Shows are Friday and Saturdays, 8:00 and 10:00 PM. Admission costs $15.
Friday's grand opening will feature appetizers and drinks. To make reservations at Carmen's call, 698-3900.
