KENNEWICK, Wash-- One Kennewick group is doing their part to help keep Columbia Park clean. Volunteers with Planned Parenthood spent the morning picking up trash throughout the park.
The group leader tells us the idea to clean the park came from president-elect Barack Obama calling on everyone to help make the world cleaner. And despite freezing temperatures, there was still a good turn out.
"I was surprised when I got up this morning, it was very chilly," says Brian Griffith, Public Affairs Organizer for Planned Parenthood. "I thought maybe people wouldn't be interested in coming out, but we had a group and we're very excited."
Griffith is actually going to the inauguration. The group collected five full trash bags and three tires.
