UW's Barlow Suspended For Season

Posted: Updated:

SEATTLE (AP) - Freshman forward Charmaine Barlow has been
suspended from the University of Washington women's basketball team
for the remainder of the season.

Coach Tia Jackson made the announcement yesterday, saying the
suspension was "due to a violation of several team rules."

Barlow is a graduate of Seattle's Sealth High School who
appeared in eight of the Huskies' 15 games this season, averaging
1.6 points and 1.6 rebounds.

Barlow and junior forward Lydia Young were suspended by Jackson
for the Huskies' most recent game, Saturday against Oregon State.
Jackson says Young has been reinstated and will accompany the team
to Los Angeles for games Thursday at USC and Saturday at UCLA.

The Huskies have a 5-10 record this season, including 1-4 in the
Pac-10. They've lost their last four starts.
