Senator Murray Hosts Coffee Party for Washingtonians in D.C.
WASHINGTON D.C.-- Senator Patty Murray hosted a coffee party for all Washingtonians who travelled to D.C. for President Barack Obama's Inauguration.
More than 400 people from all over our state joined Senator Murray, Senator Cantwell and all the Congressional Delegates from Washington State for Seattle's specialty drink, coffee. The party was held in the Dirksen Senate Office Building on Capitol Hill.
Murray says most of the guests were families: kids, their parents and grandparents. She spoke with many Washingtonians from the Tri-Cities and the Eastern Washington Region.
"It didn't matter where they stood or how far away they were or how close they were. Their experience all was that they were part of history and they felt just that. This was a moment, day, and a lifetime experience they would be talking about forever," said Murray.
Murray says during the inauguration she was standing on the side behind President Obama, facing the millions of people on the mall. She also attended Obama's Inaugural lunch.
