Fever get ex-Husky for OL

Posted: Updated:

The Tri-Cities Fever announce that offensive lineman Clay Walker has been assigned to the team by the af2 league office.  Walker was a 4 year starter for the University of Washington's offensive line playing both the Center and Guard positions.

Walker, 6'4", 295 lbs, earned all Pac-10 honors both his Junior and Senior year at Washington, as well as two team awards.  Walker was the recipient of the Bob Jarvis Offensive Scout Squad MVP award his freshman year and recipient of the John P. Angel award which goes to the most outstanding offensive lineman his senior year.  Walker is considered by his college coaches as very steady and trustworthy during his tenure at UW.

Fever Head Coach Richard Davis has high hopes for Walker stating that "he is a very versatile lineman, he is tough, smart, and has great character.  He is a reflection of my belief that we should focus on bringing in the right players, not the most players.  Clay's character and strengths on the field show me that he is one of those "right" guys."
