No. 23 Gonzaga stays unbeaten in WCC
MALIBU, Calif. (AP) - Josh Heytvelt scored a season-high 25
points and Matt Bouldin delivered a career-high 10 assists as No.
23 Gonzaga remained perfect in the West Coast Conference by beating
Pepperdine 83-69 last night in Malibu, Calif.
It was the fifth straight victory for the Bulldogs (12-4, 4-0),
who scored the first 17 points of the game.
Heytvelt, who had six points in the Bulldogs' last game, scored
the team's first nine points and made his first five field goal
He was two points shy of his career high that he set against
Keion Bell led Pepperdine (4-16, 1-3) with 19 points and a
career-high 12 rebounds while Mychel Thompson had 14.
Dragovic leads No. 13 UCLA over WSU
PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) - Nikola Dragovic scored a career-high 20
points and No. 13 UCLA hung on to beat Washington State 61-59 last
night for its 16th straight win in Pullman.
Dragovic made 6-of-10 3 pointers as UCLA (15-3, 5-1 Pac-10)
rebounded from a loss to Arizona State.
Washington State (11-7, 3-3) had a chance to win at the buzzer,
but Marcus Capers' long shot missed the rim.
It was UCLA's ninth straight win over the Cougars.
Dentmon rescues Brockman, surprising Washington beats USC 78-73
SEATTLE - Justin Dentmon scored 22 points last night as the
surprising Washington Huskies beat Southern California 78-73.
Senior Jon Brockman had 13 rebounds but scored a season-low four
points and did not make a field goal for the first time since his
freshman season. Freshman Isaiah Thomas contributed 17 points and
the Huskies won for the 12th time in 13 games.
Washington hosts No. 13 UCLA (15-3, 5-1) tomorrow for the
Daniel Hackett scored a season-high 24 points and freshman DeMar
DeRozan added 16 for the Trojans (12-6, 3-4). They lost for the
third time in five games.
