The First Delta High Informational Meeting Draws Big Crowd

PASCO, Wash. - The new science and math based Delta High school to open in the Fall of 2009 hosted its first informational meeting for parents and students at Isaac Stevens Middle School in Pasco.

The meeting was full of parents and students wanting to learn more about Delta High.  The school will focus on math, science, technology, and engineering.  Delta High School will open with about 100 freshman who reside in the Kennewick, Pasco and Richland school districts.  The school will add one grade per year until it has about 400 students in grades 9 through 12 in 2012-2013.  The school will initially be located at Columbia Basin College's Richland campus. 

The next informational meetings for the public will be held: 

Tuesday, February 3, from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at Chief Joseph Middle School, 504 Wilson Ave. In Richland.

Thursday, February 5, from 6:30-9:00 p.m. at Park Middle School, 1011 W. 10th Ave. In Kennewick.

Thursday, February 12, from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at East Building Auditorium, Washington State University Tri-Cities, 2710 University Drive in Richland. 

Principal Deidre Holmberg will speak and answer questions.  Brochures, admissions materials and other information will be available.
