Seattle Fog Leaves Passengers Stuck in the Tri-Cities For HoursPosted: Updated:
PASCO, Wash.-- Flying to Seattle turned into a waiting game for many at the Pasco airport.
"The next available flight to Seattle actually 2:20p.m.," said Madhi Almadhi, who was trying to get to Seattle.
Almadhi was headed to Seattle and then to San Francisco, and found himself stuck.
"I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere, I don't know anybody, and I'm just waiting," said Almadhi.
Like him, one woman was flying from Los Angeles to Seattle and was diverted to the Tri-Cities after some scary moments.
"They wouldn't let us off the plane, we were sitting there for more than 15 minutes before they put the stairs out, and I have asthma and I was choking and they gave me water," said Maria Flynn.
Another Horizon flight was headed to Seattle at 6:30 a.m. but didn't quite make it.
"Everything is nice and clear right over the pass, and then they got to Seattle and everything was fogged up, and they had to turn around and come back," said Darrel Chambers, a Franklin County Deputy.
One of the people on that plane was Eugene Yang, who was doing business in the Tri-Cities.
"We came back here around 8:30 a.m., so we've been here since 8:30 this morning waiting to get up on a flight to Seattle," said Yang.
A little after noon the lines were getting longer and the passengers getting frustrated.
"The worst part see it's my daughter's birthday this morning so I was trying to fly back so I could get to her bus stop before school started," said Yang.
