YAKIMA--A driver leads Yakima Police on a dangerous chase after causing an accident and driving away.

Police said the driver of a white Mitsubishi rear-ended a woman driving on Nob Hill Blvd. around 1:00 p.m.  Instead of stopping, he drove off.  Police finally caught up to him on S. 40th Ave. about ten minutes later.

Police feel fortunate there were no serious injuries.

"It's not a huge SUV but it's still a car," Sgt. Tony Bennett said.  "If it hits somebody or something it's going to cause damage.  "It was important for us to get on it as fast as we could and get it stopped for everybody's safety."

The driver is diabetic and appeared to be suffering from low blood sugar levels.  He is being cited for the hit-and-run and reckless driving.
