YAKIMA, Wash-- The Yakima SunDome announces its largest event ever. Two years in the making, it's been a highly guarded secret. You could say this show has been more than two years coming, actually more like millions of years in the making.
"Walking With Dinosaurs the Arena Spectacular" will be coming to Yakima this April.
The dinosaur show started in Australia where the hit BBC TV show was adapted to the arena. Life size creatures will roam the SunDome, from the terrible T-rex to velocaraptors.
This show has been held in Madison Square Garden and the Tacoma Dome. Yakima's SunDome is actually the smallest venue yet to hold the dinosaurs. But, it was no small feat getting this show to town.
"You know we just worked on them and told them we got a great venue here. Gave them pictures of the building and a lot of phone calls and it all paid off," said Greg Stewart, president of State Fair Park.
The economic impact of this show could be huge for Yakima. Walking With Dinosaurs is slated for April 24th through the 26th. All equipment and crew will arrive in 24 semi-trucks.
Tickets are available February 12th, call 800-325-SEAT, on-line at ticketswest.com or in person at the SunDome box office.
