Tri-Cities, WA- If you need help preparing your tax returns, and don't want to pay for it, gather up your forms and head to one of the tax-aid centers in the Mid Columbia.
Between now and April 15, members of the American Association of Retired Persons will complete your federal tax returns.
This year the AARP volunteers say they expect to help a lot of people who normally don't itemize deductions, but who qualify for up to one-thousand dollars in deductions. And if you didn't receive a tax stimulus rebate in 2007, the volunteers say you may be eligible for the rebate this year.
There are no age or income requirements to get the free tax-help. All you need is your social security card, the cards of any dependent, and a picture identification.
The AARP volunteers have set up sites in and around the Tri-Cities on different days and nights of the week. For a complete list of where and when the tax-aid centers are open click here.
