KENNEWICK, Wash. - We're just a few days away from Valentines Day and some floral shops around the area are seeing a decline in sales.
Some florists said the poor economy is having an effect on the decline in sales.
Connie Wormington with "Just Roses" on Clearwater Avenue in Kennewick just received a shipment of 40 thousand flowers to go to several "Just Roses" locations in the Tri-Cities. Even though it sounds like a lot, that's %20 less than her order last year.
"With the recession, we're taking that into account but it means that people will spend less because their going to do other things," said Wormington with "Just Roses."
Many florists said having Valentines Day on a Saturday is also having a big impact on floral sales. Most people won't pay for delivery if they have time to pick up the flowers themselves.
