Department of Fish and Wildlife Sees Job Cuts

Posted: Updated:
YAKIMA, Wa.- Central Washington's Department of Fish and Wildlife leaders are cutting one fifth of their staff.

Twenty two jobs between Yakima and Franklin County will be eliminated. This staff manages 400,000 acres of land, including fish hatcheries in Naches and on the Columbia River.

Department leaders are considering closing some of those hatcheries to save more money. They haven't said when or who the cuts will effect.
