EPIC in Kennewick and Yakima To Stay Open Until The End Of June
KENNEWICK, Wash.-- New information about EPIC, the teen runaway crisis center will stay open for a little longer.
In January EPIC announced it would close its doors this month due to state budget cuts. But providers across the state have decided to reduce the number of beds at each location before closing the center completely.
"Not only us but all the other providers in the state believe that these facilities are so important to our youth, I think that alone shows the commitment that we have to working with youth and making sure that they're safe," said Kyler Bachofner, EPIC Youth Services Director.
In Kennewick the number of beds will go down from six to two. The Yakima facility will go from five to four beds. There are nine facilities total across the state.
