Information for Those Wanting to Appeal FEMA Assistance Denial

Posted: Updated:

RICHLAND, Wash.--  Many people are still cleaning up after last month's flooding in Benton and Kittitas Counties.  If you were denied FEMA assistance, there is an appeal process.

Common reasons for being denied include your insurance claim not yet being settled or missing documents.

If you want to appeal, you must have an appeal letter postmarked within 60 days of the date on the original decision letter.

You can mail your appeal letter to:

FEMA- Individuals & Households Program

National Processing Service Center

P.O. Box 10055

Hyattsville, MD 20782-8055

Or Fax it to:

1-800-827-8112

If you need more information about a FEMA appeal, call the FEMA Helpline at 1-800-621-FEMA.
