Radio Personality Camping Out for Food Donations

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash--  One radio DJ is doing all he can to get people to donate food, by spending 36 hours hoisted up in a lift.

He's calling the event 'have a heart for kids'.  His goal is to get 100,000 pounds of food donated to Second Harvest.  The cold air didn't keep him from calling it quits, and neither did the fact it's Valentine's Day.

"You do something nutty, you do something a little crazy, then people will pay attention," says DJ 'Big B.'  "I know it's Valentine's, my wife, she's not too happy about this.  I have to do something, and if it's come up here and almost freeze to death last night, then that's what I've got to do."

'Big B' says he's seen donations at all hours of the day.
