Police Looking for Suspects in String of Burglaries in Richland
RICHLAND, Wash.-- Police are looking for suspects in a string of burglaries in Richland. Four homes were broken into near Leslie Road and Gage Boulevard in the Meadow Springs neighborhood.
KNDU talked to neighbors, and some seemed surprised it happened in their neighborhood, but others say it's not the first time they've heard of it happening in that area. Most of the burglaries happened on the 2000 block of Sheridan Place.
KNDU spoke with one family who had things stolen, and they didn't want to go on camera or have their house shown, but they say it happened either late Sunday night or early Monday morning while they were sleeping. A brand new TV, computers, MP3 players, and other small electronics were taken.
Police say, in most cases, the burglars got in the house through an unlocked door while the homeowners were sleeping. They say a firearm was stolen from one of the homes.
Police encourage everyone to keep all doors and windows locked. One person, who says his vehicle was stolen out of his driveway about a year ago, even says he may suggest forming a community watch group to his neighbors.
