With 3 Weeks Left in Pac-10 race, No. 22 Washington is in Driver's Seat
SEATTLE (AP) - There's three weeks to go in the Pac-10 men's basketball race and the team in control is No. 22 Washington.
With a 10-3 league record, the Huskies need no help from here on out to wrap up the school's first regular season conference title in 24 years.
If Washington wins its final five games, the Huskies will be the Pac-10 champs. Not bad for a team picked to finish fifth in the league before the season began.
Washington's final push begins tomorrow night at No. 20 UCLA, a place the Huskies hold only one win in the last 22 years. Then comes a road game against USC, followed by a trio of home games to close the season ... against No. 14 Arizona State, red-hot Arizona and finally rival Washington State on March 7.
The Huskies head into their final five games with a 19-6 overall mark. They're out to claim just the third regular season conference title.
